Mouthpiece

A stale day today.

Went to the railway station to see alok off. Then slept, until i realised i had panday’s pulsar’s keys with me. Alok had given some tips on how to ride a bike(no m not joking, i didn’t know how to ride a bike. Though nobody can ride a Bajaj Chetak and Honda Activa like i do ) So, then … went on a little test-ride in the nearby gallis to unfreeze my arms. It took – what – 5mins to do that, it’s midsummer you see. So, went to the library in the evening and came back and went again … the ride continues.

As the news of me riding a bike got around, neha called from delhi to put brakes on my just found adventure. She wants me to stop using this new means of transport right away, and i think i’ll succumb cus i don’t have a license. I’ll keep you informed…

Not many months ago I thought I was proficient at staying alone. Now, at a time when all my comrades have dutifully and sanely left for home and I’m left to languish here alone, a change in opinion seems inevitable. Hostel is too much of a killer when you’re encountered with stubbornly closed doors, empty corridors and an eerie silence. I mean – yeah I always wanted solitude – but I did never say I minded too much on being disturbed while talking on phone or mayhems during middle of the night. How I enjoy waking up Alok in the morning just to play a game of ludo, or playing Bluff in hushed voices when Khatri is sleeping in the next bed, or many months ago playing chess with the watchman downstairs at 2am.

In all practical sense, I’m wasting time here. May be I’d’ve wasted as much time if I had gone home but it would’ve been a better kind of time-waste – high-quality time waste and not this down-market type time-waste where I loll and roll on my bed half of the day like a grandmother buffalo and the other half I’m contemplating if or not I should go to the library.
