May be…
May be i need to go into a shell now.
Perhaps, i’m very weird and live in a make-belief world.
Or may be i should be bold enough to face everything that’s coming my way … without changing myself.
May be i should change myself.
I love her. May be that’s my problem. I should suppress my emotions.
For once, can’t this world just cease to exist.
Perhaps i’m feeling very inferior. May be, i am.
I’m alone in a crowd. No one to share my stories with.
Basss.
Help!
Since the purpose of this post is solved or rather – rendered meaningless – i’m deleting the contents….
Blinded by The Dazzle!
Our dance group is going to perform 3 songs. After much consideration and some serious lobbying and a little bit of bitching(about scrapping the group altogether), we decided and started practicing on 2 songs :
Chhod Do Aanchal(Bombay Vikings)
You Are My Soniya(K3G)(yess yess yesssss!)
I’m trying hard to convince Akanksha that Deewangi from OSO as a third song won’t fit into our scheme of things, especially when she’s planning to rope in council members for guest appearances.
YUVA
The annual MGM gathering called ‘Yuva’ kickstarted some days back, and will last for a month, culminating in 5 days of mega-events. Sports and auditions are going on.
The Chocolate Day had almost become a super-hit party. Almost? Read on.
Actually, all the MGMites gathered in the reception hall to exchange chocolates with each other. Different chocolates had different meanings, like Fruit n Nuts means Love, Kit Kat means Brother-Sister, Dairy Milk means Friendship, Perk means Like, Munch – Respect and Ulta Perk – Khatte Meethe rishtey. I had serious doubts about the sensibility and success of the whole concept. Anyways, it was a almost a runaway success. I exchanged lots of Dairy Milks, and got a Perk and Fruit N Nuts each. I gave a Fruit N Nuts too, but that’s a long and different story; something i’ll call Chocolate Day Scandal.
And then …..
the head honcho of the university, Kadam Sir, raided the place like some Shiv-Sainik, evacuated the hall and made all the nicely-dressed and badly-dressed students to RUN away at unimaginable speeds. Later it perspired that proper permission was not taken. Almost missed.
==========
Was forced into the auditions of Mr. MGM Idol, an after-math of being Mr. Fresher. The question’s they asked in the interview :
What would you be if not a doctor?
Favorite book, pastime and author?
Your views about gay relationships.
Tu marne se pehle apni girlfriend ko kya kahega?
I’m in. Shit.
============================
-I’m playing Chess; won the first knockout match.
-The Dazzlers Group is back! The practice sessions leave me exhausted.
-What if i don’t play cricket? We cheered for Stalwarts Teams A and B. Both the teams lost.
The experience that was Jodhaa-Akbar
We had booked tickets for the 10:30 show on Friday night. Sincerely, we hadn’t expected what was coming. The whole experience of seeing the movie and then returning back by about 2:30 at night(the movie was that long) and then celebrating Deepak’s birthday at night was memorable. And did i forget to say the movie was good too, i’ll give it 3.5 stars.
Jodhaa-Akbar is grand. It may not be great or heart-wrenching, but truly it’s grand. It does not appeal to your heart as much as it appeals to your eyes and your ears. Mahamanga(Ila Arun) really scared me, as much as Hrithik impressed me. And amidst all the dazle, everybody overlooked the fact that the movie has no storyline. Anyways. Good good.
Literary Club and JOdhaa-Akbar
14th Feb, 2008 will go down in history as the foundation day of PHASON’S Literary Club, which we started with great zeal. We got 8 members right now. We’re planning to buy books collectively, hold bi-weekly meetings and a host of other things. Am i sounding like a salesman?
===============================
Going to see Jodhaa-Akbar tonight at PVR. Am pretty excited as Taran Adarsh has given it a good 4 stars.
I DON’T enjoy …
I don’t love/enjoy :
1. Mugging up biochemistry cycles.
2. When i have to meet new people, particularly those who have haughty airs.
3. While writing a poem, when my lines fail to rhyme.
4. Talking to people who believe in God just because their parents want them to, OR, who criticise Gandhi just for the sake of discussing something spicy.
5. Talking on phone/meeting those old friends who’re indifferent towards me, while i keep on doing all the talking, crack all the jokes etc. Cut it. These people want me to carry forward our friendship alone, which – alas – i’m too busy to do.
6. When the night beforean exam, i’m practically left with almost ALL the syllabus to do.
7. When people say they don’t like TZP, JWM or Harry Potter. And, instead, they love Partner.
To be updated soon…
I enjoy ….
I love/enjoy :
1. When i read a gripping book in the winter sun.
2. Seeing my dadi arrive at our doorstep, draped in a shawl.
3. Reading my old personal diaries and slam-books, and thinking about them until i decide i shouldn’t be an emotional maniac.
4. Visiting Aurangabad railway station with lots of luggage, because it means it’s time to go home!
5. When i bail myself out of a stupid bad mental dilemma/situation, owing to my views about life.
6. Tea in Canteen after dinner.
7. Talking to girls who have a mind of their own.
8. When papa advises me the same things everyday on phone.
9. Having my brother around when i’m suffering from techno-problems with the music system/computer.
10. Reading the editorials of TOI.
11. Kurkure breaks in the hostel at night, when kurkure ‘drops from the sky’!
12. Visiting library with only Guyton to study.
13. Seeing my parents react after i tell them something new.
14. Getting ready for college in the morning, and then deciding a mass bunk.
13. Seeing Jab We Met again and again.
The above list is in NO way exhaustive. I’ll update it as and when required. I love blogging.
My Material Obsessions
After about a month or two or even more of intellectual and self-confessed philosophical highs, the following things have influenced me in a way some bad company spoils a good boy :
1. American Pie movie series(especially Naked Mile), the DVD of which i got hold of last week.
2. Kaavya Vishwanathan’s book How Opal Mehta Got Kissed Got Wild And Got A Life.
AMERICAN PIE : Jaw-dropping stuff. High octane, adrenaline inducing entertainment. I kept complaining why can’t my college be like that, or rather why can’t i be like Stifler … until truth sank in. The two other movies i saw in between at PVR and Fame(Mithya and National Treasure) were nowhere near what Nked Mile did to me. Wow, but ssshhh.
HOW OPAL MEHTA…. : So materialistic, still so pleasing. Exactly what Robin Sharma won’t recommend. It was aggressively and confidently girlish in parts, but as long as it keeps me hooked i ain’t complaining. I’m still on with it…so cant say what message it contains, if it does. Nice crazy work Kaavya. Forget plagiarism; it takes guts and talent to even cheat.
Consequence: I’m sitting in a cafe, bunking histology practical.
I’m on a roll, etc.
Q: When do i know i’m having a good time? Ans : Whenever, wherever i know i’m not having a bad time.
Life’s definitely looking up, WAY UP. As if the most beautiful, yet most awkward week before Valentine’s wasn’t enough, there’s this Annual MGM Gathering called Yuva coming up – and I toh in hava! Plus, i’ve got this little satisfaction of getting 60.9 per cent in the exams. I’m so bad, but so happy.
The girls in my social circle are behaving as if they’re a) too cute and b) too rich, and dont care if the other person(read me) is almost broke. So, in college, we’re religiously celebrating Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Perfume Day etc since a week, where we exchange gifts appropriate to that day, and then discuss who-got-what all night. Coming up next : Jewellery Day.
Life after college … i mean, after 5pm in the evening gives me a real sense of being in good company, and in a good college. We’ve been doing anything and everything. Movies, novels, canteen, gup-shup…anything but studying. Oh, and guess what, i went for a session of badminton and pingpong too(believe it or not). Like i said, life’s looking up.
ps : Abdomen end-portion test on 14th and 15th. Burst the bubble. Burst the bubble! Rolling no more.
